The RT400 and Raptor 500 tracked mulchers are equipped with heavy-duty cutter teeth that will work effectively in soil and will cope with a high degree of contamination such as fence wire, stones, and bricks. The process works by using the ground as the cutting surface, to reduce the chances of damage caused to any internal areas of the machine when processing dirty material.

Mulchers will mostly work un-aided and only require assistance from an excavator when material needs to be laid out on the ground from large piles, or when heavy contamination, such as large metal objects, need removing.

Purpose-built forestry mulchers are unrivalled by any other method for processing speed. They are highly mobile, so they do not need material to be bought to them. They travel through the work area shredding material in-situ and need no haul roads or hard standing. Final finish after mulching is always to a high standard and sites are left safe and ready for ongoing operations. They are also capable of operating within a very small risk zone, so that clearance works need not affect other site operations.
From an environmental stance, mulching is very attractive, as it can reduce the need to take material off site and it requires no expensive set up costs or infrastructure to be installed and is very quick, saving the client valuable time and money. Mulching is an ideal solution for forestry restocking site preparation as well as general site clearance duties.

The Cat 299D2 XHP Tracked Forestry Mulcher offers a superior, compact, purpose-built mulching solution for clients involved in demanding vegetation management applications where larger equipment cannot access or where there are large areas of smaller vegetation to be cleared. Fast on the ground, safe on many slopes and with metal tracks to ensure traction, low ground pressure and to eliminate punctures on contaminated ground, the CAT 299 is the ideal solution where material may be too large for a tractor or remote-control smaller mulcher.
The fixed tooth hydraulically driven head is extremely durable and resists damage from object strikes and unlike a tractor or remote mulcher, the CAT can reach up over 2m when dealing with standing vegetation to give quicker clearance times and a high-quality finish.

The 440hp Raptor 500 mulcher is the industry benchmark in dedicated mulcher design. Delivering a combination of immense power, combined with an all-terrain capability and the capability of leaving a superb end-finish regardless of the type of material, with the Raptor adding enhanced capability for steeper slopes and softer ground. Trees and stumps of unlimited size are effortlessly dealt with and with a super-duty fixed tooth mulching head, the machine will level off ruts and brash mats after clear-felling operations. Soil, stones, wet ground and deep brash on sites are no problem for this machine and with area rates on clear-fell of between 0.75 and 1.5ha per shift (depending on debris levels, stump size and site conditions), it makes mulching restock and site clearance operations highly cost effective.

Metal tracks and compact dimensions enable operations on most terrain types and the machine will work efficiently on open sites as well as in standing woodland and vegetation if required.

The FAE PT-300 is a powerful and versatile tracked carrier designed for demanding land clearing and forestry applications. Our purpose-built powerpack mulchers are unique to us and are equipped with second engines to provide power directly to the mulcher head for unrivalled power. Our powerpack engines range from 200hp to 530hp on excavator bases between 20 and 30 tons, to give total horsepower ratings for the whole machine between 400hp and 650hp.

Powerpacks are ideal for standing material on mulch-to-waste sites, spot mulching of stumps or brash piles, general mulching on uneven, steep, rocky or soft ground.

Our machines are mostly in LGP specification, but can also be supplied with floating work pontoon/mats for work on extremely soft ground like silt beds or deep peat. They can also be supplied with a stump grinding attachments or stump augers for large-scale stump removal or grinding stumps across ditches, on top of walls or on steep embankments.
